Introduction :

Kathmandu Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), affiliated to Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), and situated at Kamal Pokhari, is a reputed & multidimensional academic institution. KIST was established in 1995 with a view of preparing qualified and skilled Human Resource in the field of science and management.

KIST runs on the collective efforts of group of Nepalese Educationists who have dedicated their lives for the development of Education system in Nepal.

Rules & Regulations

• Will not be allowed to have leave on any ground, what so ever for more than 7 days. Leave application must be submitted in Advance.
• 80% Attendance is mandatory.
• Out passes : Only in the case of emergency, student will be allowed to leave the campus with permission from the principal/coordinator.
• Gum : Chewing gum and smoking are strictly prohibited in the campus premises or in the classroom.
• Tests and Exam : There will be unit tests and terminal examinations. Marks of each unit test will be marked as a student’s academic progress.
• Students must appear in all exams.
• They must be dressed in proper KIST Uniform.
• Students must maintain the strict discipline.
• Students are not allowed to bring mobile phone to the college premises.

Audio-Visual Aids

Multimedia classes are provided at least twice a week to keep students abreast of the recent trends and developments in their fields of interest.

Computer Lab

KIST College has a well-equipped computer lab with 24-hours free internet facility and a range of computer-related help room and 40-seat auditorium. In addition, a 50-seat classroom is available for holding special and intensive computer programs.

Cafeteria

KIST cafeteria, maintained by the college in a modest way, offers various edible items at a reasonable price. It is spacious and provides hygienic food to students and staff.

Sports and Extra Activities

KIST has given adequate preference for extracurricular activities such as educational tours and biological excursions. Basketball, Football and Cricket are the major games included in the list of high priorities. There is a comfortable and national standard basketball court at KIST. The college teams of Basketball and Football have given good results so far in various inter-college tournaments.

KIST College also has an exciting offer for interested BIT/BIM students, who can opt for Bachelor Degree in Integrated Media from Wakkani Hokusei Gakuen University, Japan after completing the first two years of study at KIST and the other two years in Japan.

The library at KIST College has a large collection of course and rare books. It subscribes to various national and international periodicals and adds several volumes to its collection each year. Evaluation System

Students have to take two terminal exams and a send up exam in one academic year. Class tests are conducted at the regular basis in the form of end-chapter test and unit test during the period between the terminal exams.

Students are entitled to submit their daily assignment works to the respective subject teachers. A student must have minimum 80% attendance to be able to appear in the final examination conducted by HSEB.
